There is an inner voice – a real voice – that I have learned to trust.
At first the voice was loud and fueled by the arrogance of youth. It screamed that I was absolutely right based on nothing more than knowing I was right.
Then the voice got a bit softer, humbled by experience, tempered by what the experience taught.
Sometimes it nearly damps out,
cowed by uncertainty, doubt, or fear.
But not quite.
Even at a whisper it is still there…
serving as compass.
Pointing to true north.
We all have an inner voice.
All we need to do is listen to it.
