Many people define themselves by naming what they do to make a living.
This can be particularly vexing for those who hold several jobs or have no ‘job’ at all.
Speaking with a few Millennials over the weekend, I got a variety of answers when I asked the question,
“What do you do?”
(Interestingly, none of the answers named a career).
“Friend,” answered a young man at the grocery store.
“Coffee lover,” said the Starbucks’ barista.
My favorite answer came from a person pumping gas.
“I’m a member of humanity,” he said.
