The Importance of Branding

Branding isn’t about coming up with a snappy description during an interview.

Branding is discovering yourself.

It’s asking hard questions like “what do I want from life”.

And “what am I good at”.

And “what do I care about”.

I believe that you and your brand are one and the same. It’s what you stand for. It’s what you believe. It’s how you treat others. It’s how you wish to be treated.

Branding is practical. Once you can articulate your brand – and believe it, deciding where to work or what to do becomes easier.

In the sixties I called it “touchy-feely.”

Now I call it the truth.
