Why is it that when a candidate asks a “stupid” question during an interview the question makes it onto a “stupid questions from candidates” list?
But when an employer asks a “stupid” question during an interview, they are labeled “wacky” or even “perceptive”? (see the article on CNNMoney.com)
I realize that candidates sometimes ask inappropriate questions – and I have laughed at the “stupid questions” lists.
Let’s agree that the interview is not the place for an employer to show how clever he is. It’s the employer’s responsibility to ask probing, insightful questions to find the best person for the position.
