I never learned to type.
I’ve tried classes, software, and games to no avail. Mavis Beacon kicked me out of her class.
Luckily, with the advent of smartphones, tablets, and pads, QWERTY isn’t as important as it once was. Automatic correct-as-you-type technology (as humorous as it often is) has also aided me.
Nowadays half of what I type – including today’s post – I type by thumb.
The lesson is – don’t get fixated on “tried and true”.
Review your skills.
Don’t rest on your laurels.
What serves you well now may not be practical next time.
