Magic Words

There is a continuing debate about what constitutes good customer service. 

Customer service is several things – including but certainly not limited to:

Giving the client what they want. (Although sometimes customer service is saving the client from a bad idea – even when it’s their bad idea).

Under-promising and over-delivering.

Regardless of what it is, customer service begins with the basics.

It starts with two magic words. They are not taught in school. They don’t need to be. 

Everyone knows them and it’s shocking how many of us fail to use them.

The two magic words are 

Please and Thanks.
