Embrace Conflict

How many times have we sat in a meeting and – in the name of collaboration – gave credence to what we considered a foolish idea? 

How many times have we seen criticism quashed by the powers that be?

How often have we agreed with a course of action simply because it came from upper management?

How many times have we seen a project fail due to inertia or apathy?

Is speaking out being impertinent?

Does civility outweigh performance?

Have we become so squeamish that we are willing to accept mediocrity to avoid conflict?
