In a recent interview with the the New York Times, The Limited’s Chief Executive Linda Heasley was asked about her favorite interview questions. (Go here for the entire interview).
Ms. Heasley mentioned that she likes to hear about what books the candidate has read. She likes to know what the candidate does outside of the work environment. She mentioned that she likes to understand how a candidate faced a challenge. She’d like to know how a candidate would be described by their boss or staff. She’s curious about a candidate’s view of leadership.
It’s interesting that her best interview questions weren’t questions at all.
They were the answers.
