Being Available

After I do a presentation I am usually contacted by someone from the audience who wants a job with my current employer.

The follow-up email I receive usually states that I met the person at the event and launches into what they have been doing. They state that they are available.

Being available isn’t enough. Everyone is available.

Separate yourself from “the available”.

Do you have a blog? A Twitter account? A Facebook page?

Do you have a point of view? An opinion?

Are you offering valuable information about your chosen field?

Are you sharing that information?

Are you one of the available or one of the memorable?

It’s what will separate you from those looking for a gig and those working at one.
