I read about Jonah Lehrer’s resignation from the New Yorker late yesterday.
It made me sad because I’m a fan.
I was baffled that someone who has written two successful books would find it necessary to cheat on a third.
Is the self-imposed drive to hit the deadline, to make the money, or to be the best
so great that we will do anything to achieve it?
Or is it the pressure to repeat – or three-peat?
I enjoyed Mr. Lehrer’s first two books and I’m reading his third.
Despite the controversy and the admission I find his writing style relaxed and the information helpful.
But I’m not trying to be the best…
